Any fellow Chicagoan has likely heard the buzz about the new Restoration Hardware that opened in the Gold Coast neighborhood back in October.  Well...I've been trying to get a table in the gorgeous atrium cafe since then, and to say it's been a challenge is an understatement!  Due to popularity and the lack of reservations, the wait time for a table is painfully long and we've just been too impatient.  But a few weekends ago, Patrick and I set out determined to succeed...and finally did!  Our trick: since we live in the neighborhood, we put our name in and then waited out the two hours at home!  Once seated, we started out with cocktails (mimosa for Patrick, bellini for me) then split the sourdough grilled cheese and the cheese board (yesss cheese).  The menu is exactly what you would imagine - a wide selection of salads, small bites and appetizer-type dishes.  Basically my idea of a meal!  Everything was delicious.  We ended the afternoon walking by around the modern floor.  It has high ceilings, big windows and lots of white, clean-lined furniture.

When getting dressed for the day, I was in the mood for something feminine but structured.  I hate to say it, but I always forget how much I love the fit of this blazer (I purchased it years ago).  I paired it with a navy tissue turtleneck for a classic color combination, and in an effort to make the outfit less stuffy, I finished it off with distressed skinny jeans.

xo, Annelise
