varsity stripes

I never met a stripe I didn't like, and this vintage-inspired varsity stripe sweater is no exception!  The classic navy and white combo makes this sweater (on sale for under $50!) perfect for dressing up for work, or dressing down on the weekends.

I've been in the market for some new neutral booties and recently purchased this gorgeous pair by Marc Fisher with some birthday gift cards.  I needed a pair that would be suitable for work, that's comfortable and that goes with everything.  Check, check and check!  I took them for a spin this weekend when we went to the Museum of Science and Industry and they hardly gave me any trouble while being on my feet for three straight hours.  I say hardly because they did rub the skin above my ankles (they have a slightly taller shaft than most booties), but that can easily be avoided by wearing taller socks or tucking your pants into the boots.  The rubbing didn't bother me until hour three either, so if you're not walking around for hours on end, it probably wouldn't even happen!

We went to the Museum of Science and Industry this weekend for a few reasons.  1.) It's one of just a two museums that we haven't been to yet [Planetarium, you're next!], 2.) we wanted to see the 'Science Behind Pixar' exhibit, and 3.) our Sunday was wide open.  The museum was beautiful and fun to explore, but the Pixar exhibit was a little underwhelming unfortunately.  Definitely more tailored to children rather than adults.

Hope you had a great weekend!

xo, Annelise
