provence part II

[ Dress: ASOS | Heels: Chinese Laundry (similar here and here) | Clutch: Nordstrom (also love this and this one) | Lips: Tom Ford 'Patrick' ]

Finally, the event this whole trip was centered around - the wedding!  It was everything you could ever want out of a wedding in the French countryside.   The wedding ceremony took place in a church in the local town, and then we headed to Les Domaines de Patras for cocktail hour, dinner and dancing!

Les Domaines de Patras was where all of the festivities were held (the welcome dinner, the rehearsal dinner, the wedding reception and the farewell brunch), and it was the most beautiful setting for the event.  The grounds were endless yet intimate, lush yet well-manicured, antiquated yet modern.

Cocktail hour was held outside in the most beautiful flower lined courtyard.  We eventually moved indoors into a refurbished building (perhaps an old barn or garage?) for dinner and speeches, and then we danced into the wee hours of the morning to a live band underneath twinkle lights.

The search for a dress for a wedding of this caliber was no easy feat.  I searched for a dress in the months leading up to the trip but wasn't finding anything that tickled my fancy AND fit within my budget.  Then, just a few weeks before we were set to depart, I saw this dress on fellow blogger Teggy French's instagram.  I stalked it down, purchased it immediately, and it arrived just days before we left.  It was exactly what I was looking for!  A piece of advice if you're on the taller side like me (I'm 5'10") since it runs very short - I would recommend going a few sizes up and then getting it taken in by your tailor.  I didn't have time to do this but would have if I did!

Thank you for following along with my France trip recaps.  Hope you enjoyed it!  I hope to share more travel adventures soon.

xo, Annelise
