[ Blouse: Mango | Jacket: Banana Republic (similar here, here and here) | Jeans: J.Crew Factory | Slides: Ann Taylor | Bag: Forever 21 (also love this one) | Sunglasses: Forever 21 (similar) | Lips: Kat Von D 'Lolita II' ]
Photos taken at Jean Dubuffet's 'Monument with Standing Beast' sculpture
I wore this outfit a few weeks ago on a busy Friday. It took me from work to a concert (more on that in the next paragraph) and then out for drinks. I'm always looking for unexpected classics for work, and this blouse from Mango fit the bill. It featured three of my favorite details - bows, embellishments and ruffles - to make for the most perfect feminine top. I went with a size 8 for a relaxed fit and to ensure the sleeves would be long enough. One warning though is that the material (viscose) wrinkles easily.
The concert we attended was Brian Wilson (the lead singer and genius behind the Beach Boys). Patrick and I love The Beach Boys; they're such a nostalgic sound. We purchased cheap nosebleed seats and were fine with that. But then we were sitting in our seats and the show was about 15 minutes from starting when a gentleman came up to us and said "I'm about to make your night - I'm one of the producers of this show and I have a pair of front row seats for you"! Apparently he does this at every show and we were the chosen ones. So we got to see an icon perform within arms reach and hear all of our favorite songs. It was the best!!
PS There are times where Chicago really lives up to it's name as 'The Windy City' and the day we took these photos was one of them. If my hair or jacket look a mess in any of the photos, it's because this is what we were dealing with:
