Last Sunday Patrick and I FINALLY ventured down to the Pilsen neighborhood to explore. It's only been on my bucket list since I moved downtown 4.5 years ago! Pilsen is a neighborhood on the southwest side of Chicago that's regarded as a Latino cultural hot spot. We didn't have as much time down there as we would have liked (we had a train to catch to the suburbs) but we spent a decent amount of time walking 18th Street, Blue Island Ave and got some amazing tacos and margaritas at La Vaca. We also unexpectedly stumbled upon a street fest (it's like we're drawn to them!) which gave us a further look into the rich culture of the neighborhood. We plan to go back again soon to oogle at more street art, shop the vintage shops and record stores and enjoy more delicious food!
