Photos taken in the Marin Headlands
On Sunday, our flight back to Chicago wasn't until the afternoon, so with a free morning and a rental car at our disposal, we decided to stop at the Marin Headlands on our way back to San Francisco. During the whole trip, we'd been talking about going somewhere to get a good view of the Golden Gate Bridge and this seemed liked the perfect location and opportunity. What we weren't anticipating was the dense fog rolling in over the bay and creating the most magical view of the GGB peeking out over of the expansive clouds, and downtown San Francisco in the distance. It was truly awe-inspiring to be above it all, hearing the fog horns blowing from ships way down somewhere inside the fog that we couldn't see. We spent what felt like hours just staring out and taking it all in.
Once we felt we'd had enough, we drove back into the city, grabbed the quintessential California cuisine that is In-N-Out (we had to!) and dropped off the car. We still had a little time to kill, so we took an Uber to the Mission District and indulged in the heaven that is Tartine (thanks for the rec, Alyssa!). Patrick got the morning bun, I got the banana cream tart and we both indulged too quickly to snap a photo. Trust me when I say they were divine. At the suggestion of our friend, we also purchased a half loaf of French bread the we proceeded to carry on the plane with us (TSA check and all). It allowed us to continue to enjoy a taste of Northern California for the rest of the week!
This poppy colored shiftdress was perfect for the flight, exploring the headlands and everything in between. It's loose, relaxed look had me welcoming wrinkles, and the thick weight of the fabric kept me covered and not too cold on the plane. I know I'm late to the game, but these Soludos took no breaking in; they were comfortable for walking the second I put them on in the morning to the moment I took them off back home in Chicago that night.
We had such a fabulous time celebrating our 1-year anniversary in San Francisco and Napa!
