On Friday morning we picked up our rental car and hightailed it out of San Francisco to Napa. We stopped at Fremont Diner on our way out for a hearty breakfast before a day of wine tasting. Our first tasting was at Frog's Leap and it was the perfect first tasting. It was relaxed, quaint, and it included snacks (a rarity at tastings apparently)! We were able to wander the grounds alone and at our own pace once we finished the tasting. The grounds were lovely (all the outfit photos above were taken at Frog's Leap)!
Our next stop was Alpha Omega at the request of my wine-loving aunt and uncle! We enjoyed the 'club member tasting' while sitting outside in front of their gorgeous fountains. Each wine was delivered to us with a thorough explanation of how it's made. It might have been the wine setting in, but we agreed that each one was better than the one before! We loved their Cabernet Sauvignon so much that we purchased a bottle which we plan to open on our 2nd anniversary.
Our last stop for the day was Artesa which we picked solely for the views...and they did not disappoint! It's located at the top of a hill with views as far as the eye can see and surrounded by massive fountains and sculptures.
After endless glasses of wine, we were ready to call it a day. We headed home (we were staying in a family friends guest house in Sonoma), took a dip in the pool, ordered pizza and went to bed early. It was perfect!
