lily of the valley

My friend and co-worker got married this past weekend and here's what I wore to her wedding.  The event was held at Ignite Glass Studios and it was so cool!  Not only do they have a great indoor reception area and spacious rooftop (with views of the Chicago skyline), they host a glass blowing demonstration during the cocktail hour.

For my dress, I wanted to wear something with more pattern and color than I usually gravitate towards, especially since the venue had a more eclectic vibe.  I found this gorgeous Erin Fetherston dress on Rent the Runway and couldn't resist.  It was even more fun in person thanks to the pleated skirt which fans out when twirling.  I've sang my praises of Rent the Runway before in this and this post.  Their dresses are so great for weddings, particularly when you have eight in one year ;)

  1. I shot a wedding at this place in May of last year and the couple was thrilled! They had the ceremony out on the wedding venues patio then came inside to a long-table format reception which was perfect. Their cake table was backed by some stunning views.

  2. Great flower selection and the Florist Delivery lady does the same beautiful ceremony for every customer for choosing what flowers and how many flowers they want. She even gives out a free Flower Food.
