an ode to flats

I must admit - the heels I'm wearing in my blog posts are usually for the sake of the blog.  I end up switching into more practical/seasonally appropriate walking shoes once we're done with the shoot.  I'm almost always wearing flat shoes on a day-to-day basis.  So, I feel like I owe it to my readers to share more outfits showcasing some of my flats!  I purchased this pair during Nordstrom's half-yearly sale after Christmas.  They're not THE most comfortable flats I own (see below for pairs I have literally walked miles in!), but I love the refined look of the almond-shaped toe and the rich oxblood color.  They're perfect for the work day or a dinner date.

If you're on the hunt for flats that are quality and comfortable (why is it so hard to find comfortable flats?!), these and these are two pairs I swear by!

Happy humpday :)

  1. Flats are truly a girl's best friend...or my best friend at least. I wore heels all the time in my early 20s but now mostly wear flats because I love to scoot around quickly with ease and I also love to be comfortable. Your MK flats are so beautiful! Love the color and toe shape. The 2 flats I swear by are my Cole Haan Air two-tone nude flats and my black pointy-toe Tory Burch flats. I have worn both almost to death. Do you mind me asking what shoe size you wear? I'm an 11 and it's sometimes hard to find shoes in my size. I look forward to seeing more flats on your blog. :)

    1. Hi Beth! I am totally with you in terms of transitioning to flatter shoes and I get older. It's just not worth it to go through the pain! Thanks for your recommendations on comfortable flats. I will most definitely look into those. I have what I've been told are small feet for being tall - I'm usually an 8.5; sometimes a 9. xo, Annelise
