I celebrated my birthday over the weekend in Michigan at the wedding of two dear friends from school. The attire was 'black tie optional' so I used my go-to, Rent the Runway, for an outfit for the special occasion (here's another RTR dress I've worn with some tips for using the site). When getting dressed up, I always gravitate towards classic, feminine silhouettes, but really took it to the next level with the shape and volume of this dress. I felt like I was a character from Mad Men and loved every second of it! The combination of navy and electric blue raw silk was perfect for fall and would recommend it for a winter event as well.
Since the dress was the showstopper, I opted for simple accessories and an up-do (done by yours truly) that complimented the style of the dress.
