Empanadas via Cafe Tola | Ice cream via Annette's

Patrick and I both had the day off last Friday so we decided to rent Divvy bikes and spend the day exploring the city via bicycle.  One spot I've been dying to go to (partly because of the picturesque facade!) is Cafe Tola in Lakeview.  It's a tiny, hole-in-the-wall spot that makes a finite amount of empanadas a day.  They open at 7:00 am and I recommend getting there early if you want to try some of the popular ones!  Word on the street is that they have good coffee too, but the spicy mango lemonade was impossible to resist.

It was a characteristic hot July day so I knew I needed to wear something breezy and comfortable.  Believe it or not, this dress was great for bike riding because it kept me...covered, whereas a short flowy dress would have provided some Marilyn Monroe moments ;)  I tied my hair back with this vintage scarf last minute before running out the door and I'm so glad I did.  It was nice to not have to be messing with tangly hair all day!

xo, Annelise

  1. I've never seen this mural, but I love it! (I also love the color of your dress!)

  2. I love this place in particular, it always has the best and impressive events every year. These LA venues have the perfect location if you are looking to host the event of a lifetime. The main-level features a large comfortable space.
