A scarf can be your best accessory and best friend. I love this super inexpensive one from Forever 21. It's soft and literally the size of a small blanket so it's great for layering and/or bundling.
P.S. Patrick and I saw Whiplash and American Sniper this weekend. Have you seen them? We thought both were so good and extremely well done. We try and see all the Best Picture Nominees each year; only three left to see before the Oscars! My brother has been doing the same and has written compelling reviews of them on his blog.
